Entrepreneurship Starts Here!
A successful entrepreneur needs two things, an idea & model and necessary business skills. In Canada, most businesses will fail in their first year. This is due to the fact that individuals are trying to perfect their idea and model at the same time as building the necessary skills to succeed.
The Business Development Program has broken the entrepreneurship process down into 2 distinct phases which are designed to mitigate the risks involved with becoming an entrepreneur:
A proven model and system is provided to the perspective entrepreneur. This model and system has been perfected over ten years with hundreds of students utilizing it to gross tens of millions of dollars in business. During this phase, entrepreneurs will focus on developing all of the necessary skills to successfully operate a business. These skills include: business planning, marketing, sales, managing employees, time management, accounting and conflict resolution.
During this first phase, startup entrepreneurs will be paired with a business coach to provide mentorship and guidance. There will be monthly development conferences and entrepreneurs will gain real world experience not by learning about business in a classroom, but by actually running their own company. In their first summer, entrepreneurs will earn on average between $10,000 – $20,000 in profit.
Once the necessary business skills have been developed and mastered, entrepreneurs will have the choice of embarking down different paths. They can choose to continue to run a business using the same model and system to generate significant profits, they can choose to develop higher level coaching skills through the district manager program or they can choose to submit their own idea and model to the BDP incubator program.
Applicants selected into the incubator program will be provided with startup capital, strategic mentorship, administrative, payroll and legal support in exchange for an equity stake in their business. The business will be something the entrepreneur can continue to develop and grow over their career.
Do You Have What It Takes?
The Business Development Program looks for motivated, ambitious and hardworking students who are looking to start their career in entrepreneurship. Selected applicants will setup and run their own business enabling them to develop skills in marketing, sales, business planning and leadership. Once these foundational skills are developed, applicants can continue to run their business earning substantially higher profits, apply to be a part of the district manager coaching program or submit their own idea to the BDP incubator program.
