Experience Is The Most Important Asset
Real world experience coupled with transferable business skills are one of the reasons that BDP alumni are able to secure jobs much quicker upon graduation from their degree than their counterparts.
Entrepreneurs will learn about: business planning, marketing, sales, time management, managing employees, financial management, interviewing, goal setting and conflict resolution. All of these topics are learned in real applications, not in case studies or in text books.
Once entrepreneurs have completed 1-3 years within the program, they will be able to put impressive and attractive stats and business buzz words on their resume. Being able to say that while in school they managed their own business that grossed $90,000 in revenue and had 7 full time employees working for them is something that is very attractive to perspective employers.
The real world experience coupled with the transferable business skills that it brings is one of the reasons that BDP alumni are able to secure jobs much quicker upon graduation from their degree than their counterparts.
Fast Track Your MBA
Most students considering completing a MBA will obtain an undergraduate degree, work in the corporate world for a few years and then return to school to complete their MBA. Mark Kostove, a McGill student studying biochemistry, ran his first business with the BDP over the summer of 2009 and 2010. He followed this up by entering the BDP coaching and mentoring program.
Over the two following years, while finishing his undergraduate degree, Mark successfully coached students to run businesses that grossed in excess of $1,500,000 in business.
Upon graduation, Mark applied to the Rotman MBA program, with over 4 years of experience in business and over $1,500,000 in coaching entrepreneurs, Mark was accepted into the program. Mark completed his Rotman MBA from the University of Toronto, this coupled with his undergrad from McGill and his real world experience, all at the young age of 26 has allowed Mark to progress quickly and successfully in his career.
